The weekend has seen a lot happening in the political arena. Among them is the Parliamentarians retreat to Naivasha. However, the meeting seemed to sideline the Tanga Tanga sided honorable.

The Tanga Tanga chief crusader, Dr. William Ruto, pitched camp in central Kenya through the weekend. Political pundits see Ruto’s move as a tactical one trying to have the central region at his 2022 presidential plans.

Addressing a mammoth of people in one of his rallies in the central region (Mathira constituency), the deputy president was very categorical when he said that he is the one and only true friend of the Central Kenya kingpin, Uhuru Kenyatta.

“President Kenyatta’s friends are mp Rigathi Gachagua and me, and no one should try toile to you that Atwoli, Raila, or the people at ODM are Uhuru’s friends,” the deputy president said.

The deputy president accuses the opposition chief and handshake brother and his ODM brigade of trying to steal from Kenyans. Previously, Raila Odinga has been quoted saying that the referendum can’t cost more than Ksh 2billion.

The sentiments by Raila have been termed as a falsehood by the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati. William Ruto shared the same opinion

The deputy president said the Odinga brigade was out to steal from Kenyans because they insisted on a referendum.

The deputy president reaffirmed that he was in the race to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta and unstoppable. The 2022 presidential race is turning out to be a two-horse race beating Raila Odinga and William Ruto. However, the opposition chief has not come out clearly to state that he is in the race.

The climax of the deputy president’s tour in central Kenya culminated in Tharaka Nithi on Sunday. In all the places he toured, he was received joyfully by the residents. Ruto’s supporters thwarted a move by a section of Nyeri county residents of trying to heckle him.
