Senior Counsel Paul Muite has disputed claims on social media that he had cancer.
The accusations surfaced early Friday after a Twitter user shared a photo of the lawyer looking weak.
Muite refuted the allegations.
“Reports on social media claiming I have cancer are FALSE. Given my age, I’ve had to lose weight on purpose to keep my sugar levels stable; otherwise, I’ve never felt better; enjoyed 1 1/2 hours of jogging in Ngong woodland this morning, “Muite stated this in a tweet.
Rumours concerning Muite’s health caused a stir on social media, with many Kenyans criticizing individuals who propagated false information.
Ahmednasir Abdullahi, a fellow senior lawyer, is one of them.
“I had lunch with Hon Paul Muite SC yesterday; I’ve known him for 30 years and see him on a weekly basis, and I was shocked and upset by the vicious rumors about his health. Paul is in excellent health “Abdullahi took to Twitter.
